THIS MORNING, and after the de rigeur final interview, and as I walked the long hallway towards where the elevators were, the song, "Sleeps With Butterflies" came on. I stopped in my tracks and tried to ascertain where it was coming from, as there were no visible speakers in the area (And yes, I looked up, as well.). The search led me to the men's room.
It turns out that it was some guy who, despite the earphones, left the speaker mode on his phone on. He has got this suit thing going on, a beard, and a cool neck tattoo. He even sang a few bars of it, too, and looked at me through the mirrors as I pretended to wash my hands. He winked at me, and then left, song and all.
That was so cool, and surreal, the experience.
This then goes out to my friend Amy, way back in college, who once berated me for liking songs that were "too drippy, sentimental, and most of all, girly.". As if there was a real song category called that. Anyway, this affirms in me that sentimentality is cool, and timeless.
Never mind what you think of me, Amy, and my "bad baduy song choices". Hahahaha.
Ambitter, tangina.
